Mirza Ghalib
Personal life: Mirza Ghalib is a famous poet of Urdu and Persian language. He was born on 27 December 1797. Mirza Ghalib was born in Kala Mahal, Agra , Uttar Pradesh U.P(India).At the age of thirteen, Ghalib married Umrao Begum.None of his seven children survived beyond infancy. After his marriage he settled in Delhi. In one of his letters he describes his marriage as the second imprisonment after the initial confinement that was life itself. At the age of 71 years he finally left this world on 15 February 1869.
Literary career : First language of Mirza was Urdu but Persian and Turkish was also spoken in home. Mirza wrote his first poem at the age of 11 years. Pen name of Mirza was “Asad” which was drawn from his name Asadullah Khan. He also adopted “Ghalib” as his pen name which means superior ,most excellent. Sometimes he also wrote “Asad Ullah Khan “as his pen name.
